JAZZ lovers can hear the legendary trumpeter Keith Smith along with his Hefty Jazz All Stars on Friday evening at the Palace Theatre.
From Basin Street to Broadway showcases numbers from 100 years of jazz including the music of Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Fats Waller, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington, plus Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin.
In 1985 ,Keith Smith became the first non-American born musician to receive an award from the Overseas Press Club of America for 'Creative and Outstanding Contributions to the International World of Jazz'.
A Palace spokesman said: "If you like jazz then you simply can't afford to miss this. And even if you don't, come along and prepare to have your mind changed!'
