A LATE winner by Team Bath substitute Marc Canham was en-ough to send Evesham United crashing to a 1-0 defeat in last night's Dr Martens Western Division clash at rain-swept Common Road.
Evesham turned in a more workmanlike performance than the one that saw them lose against bottom of the table Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday, but again they lacked the cutting edge up front.
It's now just one win in nine games for the Robins.
But in an encouraging first-half Linton Bailey crashed a shot against the visitors crossbar and Sean Flynn was unlucky to steer a Nathan Jukes free kick just the wrong side of the upright.
The second half, however, was a different story with the majority of possession being won by the visitors.
With a draw looking the likely outcome, Bath sneaked the winner with only four minutes to go. Canham bore down on goal and prodded the ball home under the diving Damien Beattie.
Evesham: Beattie 7, Smith 6, Sage 6, Burrow 6, Bailey 8, Jukes 6 (Poutney 75), Flynn 6, Khela 6 (Ball 56 (5)), Marsh 6, Hammett 6, Pinkney 5. Subs not used: Christie, James, Powell. Attendance: 88.
