FOLLOWING sensational runs in London and on Broadway, the West End production of the comedy hit, The Graduate, comes to Malvern's Festival Theatre for a week from Monday, December 1, as part of the first ever national tour.
Set in California during the sixties,20-year-old Benjamin Braddock has graduated with top marks much to the delight of his proud parents and has a fine future ahead of him. That is until he finds himself seduced by Mrs Robinson, one of his parents' oldest and dearest friends. Young enough to be her son and old enough to know better, it isn't long before Benjamin is helping Mrs Robinson with her zip...
Glynis Barber stars as Mrs Robinson. She has worked extensively in film and tv, as well as on stage in productions including Once in a Lifetime for the RSC. She is perhaps best known for TV roles such as Makepeace in Dempsey and Makepeace, and most recently for her regular appearances on ITV's Night and Day.
She is joined by Andrs Williams as Benjamin Braddock. Andrs starred in the same role throughout The Graduate's West End run alongside Amanda Donohoe and Anne Archer.
They are joined by Jessica Brooks who was recently seen playing Freddie in Footballers' Wives.
Adapted from Charles Webb's novel and award winning film, The Graduate is both a moving coming of age story and a terrifically funny black comedy.
As relevant today as the day it was written, the show is set against a soundtrack of some of the most memorable hits of the sixties.
