I FULLY agree with the reported comments of Deputy Mayor Allah Ditta over the farcical traffic bollards at the junction of Angel Street.
I am a frequent pedestrian user of Angel Street and have never witnessed a traffic situation that requires these bollards. And of course, the £30,000 price tag mentioned may well not be the final figure.
Surely sums of £30,000 plus would be better used to address the disgraceful daily litter problem of discarded take away food containers and paper in the city centre. Or even to put a temporary and imaginative filling to the unsightly and somewhat dangerous tarmac potholes in our High Street, prior to Christmas and before the promised questionable extensive and hugely expensive refurbishment of High Street.
I happen to think our High Street is beautiful and just needs cosmetic repairs. It also does not need the Ann Summers shop.
