THERE was a dash for the cash when Bromsgrove went Children in Need crazy.
All over town people were in the mood for fun as the cash came rolling in for the popular charity bash.
Youngsters at the Lickey End Playgroup, in Alcester Road, raised £80 by wearing their bedclothes all day at a fundraising pyjama party.
Playgroup treasurer Lynne Jacobs said: "The day was a real success and the children enjoyed themselves very much." A similar event took place at the Teenie Weenies Pre-School in Shepley Road, Rednal, with children wearing their jim-jams to raise £20.
Baking Pudsey Bear cookies was the recipe for fundraising success at Holywell Primary School and Nursery in Gunner Lane, Rubery. The youngsters enjoyed a teddy bear week in aid of the annual fundraiser, which raised more than £15 million nationwide. Along with baking biscuits, they made Pudsey Bear hats, while donating their pocket money to the cause. A total of £48.79 was raised. Meanwhile a giant Pudsey Bear was on hand to greet shoppers at ASDA in Market Street last Friday. Children were given the opportunity to have their picture taken with the patch-wearing bear in return for making a donation. A raffle was also held, with a cuddly Pudsey Bear and some DVDs up for grabs. A total of £667 was raised.
