TWO Droitwich Spa swimmers have picked up top awards in recognition of their sporting achievements.
Rachel Roberts and Kim Briggs, who both attend the town's high school, scooped prestigious honours at the Wychavon Parish Games presentation evening in Evesham last Friday.
Rachel was named junior sports personality while Kim was voted disabled sports personality.
Rachel, aged 15, juggles her four nights a week of Droitwich Dolphins swimming with GSCEs and also represents the Briar Mill school at hockey, netball, athletics, tennis and rugby. She is also part of the Ladies Second XI at Droitwich Spa Hockey Club.
Fifteen-year-old Kim, who suffers from Spastic Diplegia, which affects her legs, swims with Evesham Dolphins and is part of the West Midlands squad.
Her latest success saw her take three first and second places at a gala in Wolverhampton.
A statement from the school said: "Both Rachel and Kim are an example to other students for their hard work."
