FORMER Worcester City chairman Dr Michael Sorensen has been elected club president.
Dr Sorensen, who stood down last month after 13 years in the City hot-seat, was elected to the position at a recent board meeting.
The club has been without a president for at least 10 years since the late Bob Mann occupied the role.
New chairman Dave Boddy said: "We are delighted Mike has accepted this position. We felt it was the best way that we could honour him for the years of excellent service that he has given to the club."
Meanwhile City director, Trevor Griffiths has resigned from the board after more than 10 years service.
Griffiths, a life member of the club, has played a huge part in upgrading St George's Lane and helping it regain Conference ground grading. He has decided to cut back on his commitments following his retirement. Boddy added: "On behalf of the board I would like to thank Trevor for the massive contribution that he has made to the club during that period."
