FOR the second week running, this poor put-upon reviewer has been forced to suffer the slings and arrows of the dreaded sequel.

Unlike last week, this is not better than its predecessor but it's certainly not as bad as critics made out.

Once you get used to the quirky direction and the comic book editing and appreciate the fact that this was never going to be a worthy film, then you can relax and enjoy it.

Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore all make a return as angels Natalie, Alex and Dylan - and they all look fantastic as they launch themselves into their butt-kicking, all-action girlie roles.

This time round, the trio is on the trail of two stolen rings which contain information about people in the federal witness protection scheme.

The rings are up for sale to the highest bidder and all the girls have to do is find them along with the bad guy.

Only this time the bad guy is a girl - and a fellow angel to boot - played brilliantly by Demi Moore, who looks utterly amazing for her advancing years.

The action sequences, bolstered by the special effects, are stunning and the cast of cameos is huge - John Cleese, Bruce Willis, Pink and Carrie Fisher to name but a few.

This film has its tongue planted very firmly in its cheek and there are plenty of laughs to be had along the way - just don't take it too seriously.
