A STUDLEY pub has been hailed by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) as pub of the season for its fine selection of tasty guest beers.
The Little Lark pub in Alcester Road was one of the few around which serves such a range, said Redditch CAMRA chairman Brett Laniosh.
He added: "In much the same way farmers markets have shown a demand for high quality and flavoursome local produce, pubs like The Lark are meeting the demand for locally brewed beers such as those from Weatheroak at Alvechurch and Cannon Royall at Ombersley.
"Frankly, drinkers in Redditch are finding it too difficult to find tasty, craft beers in their pubs.
"This is largely down to the way pubs are restricted in what beers they are allowed to stock.
"We are calling for a change in the law that free pubs to serve ales from local breweries."
It was the Little Lark's September Beer Festival which really grabbed his customers' attention, said pub landlord of six years Mark Roskell.
"The festival was very successful and it was the busiest I've ever seen the pub," he said.
"We always try to provide a good range of beers and make sure we keep them in good condition but it was a nice surprise to be recognised by CAMRA."
