REDDITCH MP Jacqui Smith is calling for crossing points to be installed on Evesham Road in Astwood Bank.
Ms Smith has written to Worcestershire County Council's highways manager responsible for Redditch, Jim Casey, following requests from residents.
She said: "People tell me that with a new park being built on one side of the road, it is ridiculous for no pedestrian sequence to be available at the lights.
"Not only that but Astwood Bank First School wants to put on a park-and-walk scheme for pupils but the only available parking is on the wrong side of Evesham Road.
"With no crossing, there will be no scheme."
Residents sent Ms Smith a petition about the crossing at the park and she has also received a letter from Astwood Bank First School chairman of governors, John Cassidy, about the Walking Bus scheme.
She has also been speaking to parents of children at Ridgeway Middle School, Evesham Road.
Ms Smith said: "The lights in Astwood Bank need a pedestrian sequence available but a crossing is needed near Ridgeway Middle School too.
"Parents of children there tell me it can take 10 minutes to find a gap in the traffic to cross the road.
"I hope the Highways Partnership will look into this matter carefully."
