MEMBERS were greeted with a glass of wine at the November AGM. Sue Canfield presided over quite a lively meeting.
It was agreed the biennial Denman Bursary should, for a trial period, be used to benefit all members rather than just one.
Reports were given on the trip around Birmingham Gas Street Basin and Soho House, the annual council meeting, the group meeting at Kington with Dormston and the skittles match at Cookhill.
The adviser then proceeded with the election of the committee and officers for the coming year. Ten members were elected to the committee and Sue Canfield was re-elected as president. Pam May (secretary) and Stella Wallis (treasurer) will continue in their roles.
Members were then given a short talk by Miss Ruth Jackson, a past member who had brought along copies of her book, Little Miss Jackson, about her life as a farmer's daughter, teacher and sometime traveller.
An American supper was enjoyed by all to round off a successful meeting.
