THE 40th Anniversary meal was held on October 23 at Wythall Village Hall.
Anne Wilson welcomed members and especially honoured guests, the Rev Fred Sharpe and his wife Freda.
The evening began with a delicious meal prepared and served by Sue Dalby, cater and confectioner. Whilst coffee and mints were being served, Anne gave details of the Christmas meal at Woodbourne Sports and Social Club on Tuesday, December 2, and other notices.
Sue Barnard read the minutes of the inaugural meeting held at Innisfree House School on Thursday 3 October, 1963, and the minutes of the meeting held on October 17, 1963.
Entertainment was supplied by the talented Carmil Dancers, led and trained by Carole Mills.
The celebration cake, baked by Sue Barnard and iced and decorated by Elizabeth Croxford, was then cut and members enjoyed a slice with a glass of sparkling wine after the toast proposed by the Rev Sharpe, who closed the meeting with a prayer.
The talk at the next meeting on November 27 will be given by Eileen Spalding on Christmas Ideas.
