REDDITCH Council has been accused of crowning the highest point in the town with an 'ugly' 30ft high radio mast.
The transmitter - intended to serve two-way radio buffs in the town - is being erected on the top of the Headless Cross water tower.
But the decision led to a storm of protest from some councillors who said it was an imposition on the people of Headless Cross.
Chief planning officer Mr David Woodrow said one big mast would cut out the need for a host of smaller ones throughout the town.
