EMBROIDERERS' GUILD: Having welcomed members and visitors a number of business items were dealt with by chairman, Jean Gay. Jean reminded everyone the meeting date and time would remain the same but there would be a change of venue starting in January to the Catholic Church Room, Darlingscote Road.
Jean introduced the speaker Janice Williams. Her subject was The Use of Gold Threads. Mrs Williams spoke of her early training at the Royal School of Needlework and how from that broad beginning she had developed her speciality of lettering and gold work.
Members had the opportunity to see examples of Janices' work and buy threads and other materials for gold work.
