BOWLING: A top-of-the-table clash between leaders Tornadoes and third-placed Telly Tubbies in the Gilt Edge Short Mat League did not disappoint.
Tornadoes just edged the first half 6-5 on the last end and then held out for a 7-7 draw in the second to earn five of the six points.
Honours were even between Invincibles, sitting in the current runners-up position, and fifth-positioned Brintons.
Brintons won the first half 8-6 but Invincibles took one shot on the match's last end to force a 15-15 tie.
In Telly Tubbies' second game, Untouchables gifted them the opening half with poor shot selection.
But the trio of R Rose, M Bond and I Davis came back magnificently to tie the second 9-9 although the final result was a 28-12 defeat.
Stourport took useful points by just beating Squirrel 18-16 and Crusaders saved themselves with two shots on the last end to draw 13-13 with Chestnuts.
Blakedown have done well this season but struggled in a 21-9 loss to improving Aces.
Other results: Dire Straits 13, Wribbenhall 21; Just For Fun 26, Untouchables 11.
In last week's county singles contest, Ian Davis became champion by convincingly beating Craig Hall 17-6 in the final. In the play-off for third place, Jamie Watkiss defeated Pete Hopkins.
