MY granddaughter lives in Sutton Coldfield.
When her baby was born, she was informed of a service by her council, which she would be expected to use.
She had to notify the council of the expected disposal of soiled nappies. In return, the bin men would leave a special, bright-coloured plastic bag, which they would collect each week from the side of her bin.
No disposable nappies were allowed in the remaining waste.
My granddaughter kept her bag in a separate bin with a tight lid because she had nightly visits from urban foxes.
Members of Wyre Forest District Council are talking about boxes for different types of waste.
Why not supply these special bags to residents who need them?
They could even sell economy rolls of these special bags, and I am sure those who could afford to buy them would not mind.
I would suggest a weekly pick-up by a closed van, operating as a separate vehicle, in the interests of hygiene.
