A CONTROVERSIAL goal five minutes from time gifted away two points as Chaddesley Corbett drew 1-1 with Bustleholme Reserves in West Midlands League Division One South.
Richard Burton scored from Nic Oakley's through-ball to put Chaddesley ahead but keeper Ian Harvey appeared to be impeded following a dubious free-kick as the Herefordshire side levelled.
Man-of-the-match and skipper Brian Burton said: "We had enough chances to win and some poor defending at the end has cost us."
Chaddesley earlier played some of their best football of the season in midfield through Oakley and brothers Jamie and Lee Williams, while Ted Baylis and Craig Pratt looked sharp up front.
The visitors opened the scoring on 25 minutes when Oakley's 30-yard ball found R Burton on the left and he cleverly beat the keeper.
Harvey was not tested in the first half as the defence of B Burton, Lee Strain and Steve Lowe impressed.
Baylis nearly added to the scoreline when he fired over the bar and forced a fine save from the keeper.
Pratt and R Burton squandered chances to increase the lead and the misses proved crucial late on.
A debatable free-kick was headed on, Harvey seemed to be impeded and the referee ruled the ball had crossed the goal-line as Steve Lowe cleared.
Chaddesley pushed for a winner with sub Matt Baynton, Baylis and R Burton all going close.
The players are asked to meet at Leominster by 1.45pm for Saturday's game.
