Jane Percival gave a demonstration of flower-arranging, making festive wreaths, swags and table centres, using household items such as a coat-hanger and a scouring pad as accessories.
These were covered with evergreen foliage and finished off with artificial flowers and baubles, making an inexpensive way to decorate homes.
Names and choice of menu have been taken for members attending the Christmas dinner on December 9 at Lydia's Tearoom. As usual, friends are welcome.
The competition for the prettiest tea towel was won by Julie Shaw.
There were only four entries for the flower of the month competition which was won by Stella Wilcox, with Jenny Vanderhook second and Barbara Smith third.
