THE ground-breaking campaign to tackle the dangers posed by the Internet and chat rooms got off to a flying start in Kidderminster.
The campaign, a joint project between police, teachers, school pupils and Kidderminster-based arts and media company Pablo Productions was launched at the town's Gainsborough Hotel on Tuesday.
David Ward, a teacher from Stourport High School involved with the project, said pupil representatives from every middle and high school in the district attended.
Working in groups they came up with ideas to promote the safe use of chat rooms and have planned the production of a professional video, a radio programme and a stage show.
In addition a slogan for the campaign was decided on. The logo will be CHAT, standing for "Chat room Hazards Affecting Teenagers".
Mr Ward said: "It was a great day and the students were magnificent. They just kept supplying very clever ideas."
The campaign is a joint project between Wyre Forest Community Safety Partnership, North Worcestershire Police and Wyre Forest schools.
