A FLURRY of "freaks" will descend on Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre on Tuesday as The Circus of Horrors crashes into Kidderminster.Egor horrible with Glades Leisure Centre sales adviser Gemma Dipaola.

Belinda the bearded lady, Satanica and Wasp Boy are just a few of the cult show's ludicrous line up - with their array of stomach-turning "talents" ranging from hanging from the roof by their hair to swallowing fluorescent tubes.

The troublesome troupe's first appearance in Kidderminster tops off a cram-packed year in which they have performed at more than 54 different venues - including the Edinburgh Festival and Stockton Festival.

And the show's creator Doktor Haze said he expected the act - which is set against a backdrop of live rock music by the show's band The X Factor - to go down a storm. Kidderminster is the last show of the year and we're looking forward to it - tickets are selling quite well," he said.

"It's a fact that there is no other circus in Britain which travels as far as we do - we can go anywhere in the world and play in massive arenas but in England we concentrate on touring theatre and it's this category Wyre Forest Glades falls into."

The "freaks" also performed guest spots on So Graham Norton, Richard and Judy and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway - and many of their acts have been featured on Davina McCall's Don't Try This at Home and The Jerry Springer Show.Egor horrible displays one of his acts for the Circus of Horrors.

Doktor Haze said: "I think there are lots of highlights to the show.

"We've got very unique acts like Gary Stretch who has the stretchiest skin in the world. There are only two people like him and it's a medical disorder but he uses it to his advantage and can pull his cheeks out about six inches from his face."

He added Wasp Boy was the "world's greatest sword swallower".

"He can swallow eight swords at the same time and then bend them while they're inside him and also swallows fluorescent tubes and lights them up inside himself so you get an evvect like an internal X-ray which is quite amazing."

He finished: "We always have the freak element which is combined with the dare-devil element.

"It's quite an amazing show and very funny - and is always done with tongue firmly in cheek."
