TOP jazz musicians are swinging back into Kidderminster next week for the latest rhythmic instalment of the Aggborough Jazz programme.
The Pete Allen Jazz Band has performed at festivals, theatres and clubs across the world and will take to the stage at Kidderminster Harriers Football Club on Monday.
The musicians, who have toured America, Germany, Majorca and France, to name but a few countries, are also stars of the small screen, after appearing on BBC1's Pebble Mill 30 times and in a six-week television series for HTV.
The group - which formed in 1978 - comprises leader Pete on clarinet, saxophones and vocals, as well as trombone player Richard Leach, drummer and singer Brian Price, double bass player Roger Davis and Dave Moorwood on banjo/guitar and vocals.
Royal favourite Ben Cummings, who sang at Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's wedding and played at the Queen's Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace with the Big Buzzard Boogie Band, also joined the groovy group on trumpets and vocals in 2001.
And Aggborough Jazz promoter Alan Biggs said he could not wait for the talented troupe's concert - which he described as one of the highlights of the year.
"This is probably their fourth or fifth visit and they're always back by popular demand," he said.
"They play at all the big venues throughout the country and are probably the foremost jazz band in the country."
Their gig is the second to last of the programme's seventh year and will be followed by The Antique Six Jazz Band two weeks later.
More information and tickets for the sessions, which start at 8.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm, can be obtained from the club reception or Mr Biggs on 07790 012767.
