A BROOKSIDE star is, once again, due to light up Bidford for Christmas.
John Burgess, who played David Crosbie in the soap, was asked to switch on the lights this year ceremony by his former Brookie co-star, Karen Drury, who has previously had the honour.
As well as his six years in Brookside, Mr Burgess played Dr Crocker in six Ruth Rendell Mysteries and has recently been touring the country with The Royal National Theatre's Humble Boy alongside Hayley Mills.
He will switch on Bidford's lights on Sunday, at 5.30pm.
The event will include fireworks, carols, Irish dancing, gift stalls, mulled wine and mince pies.
