POLICE are appealing for information after two men attempted a series of distraction burglaries in the same street.
The pair knocked on doors in Heath Close, Hallow, around 11.30am on Wednesday and claimed they were employed by the council to check pipes and toilets.
"One of the male offenders rushed upstairs, but came back down, followed by the male householder," said a police spokesman.
"Nothing has been found stolen at this time."
They also knocked on other addresses in the same street and police believe they were going from door-to-door.
One man is described as 5ft 10in tall, stocky and wearing a woollen hat and duffel coat.
The second, who was said to be "very abrupt and pushy", was unshaven and dark-skinned - though neither Asian nor African.
Police are asking anyone with information to call on 08457 444888, quoting 158S/280104.
