ONE Vale school spent the day discovering what its like living on the other side of the World by hosting a special Australia Day.
All the pupils at Abbey Park First School in Pershore spent Monday attending special lessons about life Down Under.
They used the internet to find out about the country's climate and wrote poems about wildlife native to Australia.
Headteacher Judith Chambers said: "It was really enjoyable and the children had a wonderful day. We all came together in an assembly in the afternoon. We finished off with a bush dance and everyone sang Waltzing Matilda."
The Evesham celebrations coincided with National Australia Day and the Vale school decided to take part in honour of teacher Gillian Carr who is originally from Australia.
