A NETBALL star from Bromsgrove is on top of the world after being selected to represent her country.
Stacey Francis, daughter of former Birmingham City footballer Kevin Francis, has been named in the England U17s squad to take part in an international tournament in Bath this month.
The 16-year-old, a member of Bromsgrove's successful Ryland netball team, attended a series of regional selection camps, most recently in Sheffield, where 500 hopefuls from across the country were whittled down to 12.
Stacey, who also plays for the county and Birmingham netball sides, said: "I was quite positive I would get in but I knew I had played my best on the day and if I didn't get in then it obviously wasn't my day."
A keen sportswomen, Stacey is also in the U16s football team at North Bromsgrove High School and plays basketball.
