GYMNASTICS: Hannah Pietkowicz was the youngest gymnast for the West Midlands as they won silver at the Voluntary One Championships in Kettering.
The Wyre Forest Gymnastic School 15-year-old was in impressive form as the region narrowly missed out to London who achieved 90.975 points for gold.
Pietkowicz, of Kidderminster, and her three team-mates managed 90.125 points in total in the top team competition for girls in the modified FIG code.
There were more than 10 teams from all over England and the Midlands started well by winning the vault section before finishing a strong third on the bars.
Despite a few errors in the floor section, they managed sixth place and went on to the beam which is the piece most dreaded by the gymnasts.
They started badly with two girls falling but Pietkowicz pulled off a clean routine to help the team into ninth position for the event and secure a silver medal.
