DARTS: Rising Sun B player Paul Walsh booked his team into the Banks's Bewdley League team knockout final with a nervy deciding game in the semis.
Walsh defeated Great Western's Ash Bateman to set up a clash with Bliss Gate at Bewdley Bowling Club on Friday, May 14.
Great Western at times produced the sort of darts that helped them win the league title last season but also missed more than their fair share of doubles.
The errors handed underdogs Sun so many chances to stay in the match and they raced to a 3-1 lead before Tony Pinwell and Pete Carter helped Western pull back a couple of legs.
But Sun skipper Will Knight kept his trump card for the final, though Walsh appeared nervous in beating Bateman in a 29-dart marathon to win a 301-point game.
Bliss Gate, who are on the verge of the league title and a possible double, defeated team knockout holders Red Lion 4-3 in a nail-biter that went to the wire.
But the defeat ended Lion's hopes of retaining the trophy and making a third consecutive visit to the final.
