AS pensioners, my husband an I have to rely on the bus service on Birchen Coppice estate.
Last year we were given a nice bus shelter to keep us from the wind and rain, while waiting for a bus.
A few weeks ago some mindless teenagers shattered one of the large windows in the shelter. We had to stand in there with the particles on the floor, which was quite dangerous.
The bus shelter had the window replaced a couple of weeks later.
On April 28 my husband used the bus shelter, and found that some mindless yobs had smashed two big windows again.
Pensioners like ourselves have to rely on public services as we have no other means of transport.
The people who provide the bus shelter must really be demoralised, not only at the cost, but the work involved in replacing the windows.
The elderly have to suffer as well as younger people who use the shelter. I feel sure someone must see these things happening, but perhaps are frightened to report it because of possible repercussions.
It is a sad world we live in today, because of drugs, vandalism and abuse. Where will it all end?
