I FELT compelled to write to you as I am so upset over an experience with the RSPCA.
Recently I saw a severely injured duck on the pond at Springfield in Kidderminster. I telephoned the RSPCA, who promised to send the inspector out to it.
I made a further two telephone calls to the RSPCA as, three days later, the duck's condition had deteriorated, and to my knowledge no-one locally had seen or heard of the RSPCA attending the site.
Sadly this poor creature succumbed to its injuries and was found dead.
I find it hard to believe that this "caring" charity were unable to find the duck, if that was their explanation for not attending. I had made it quite clear that if they telephoned me I could be there very quickly.
My whole family are extremely upset and angry about their lack of interest in the bird. Next time perhaps I should tell them that Rolf Harris and his television crew are filming, then perhaps we might see some action.
