STAFF at West Midland Safari Park have brought a new meaning to the phrase "keeping mum" by creating this makeshift pouch for an abandoned wallaby.
Skippy, a rare Albino Bennett's wallaby, was orphaned but has now found a replacement pouch with a small hammock placed in the car of deputy warden, Angela Potter, making him a "bouncing and extremely cuddlesome five-month old".
A spokeswoman for the Kidderminster Road attraction said: "Angela's secret of success in hand-rearing baby wallabies includes plenty of Carnation milk and imaginative ideas to simulate mum's pouch.
"A variety of contraptions had been used in the past, from old woolly hats to jumpers tied by the sleeves, although on warm sunny days Skippy enjoys nothing more than to snuggle down in his little hammock erected in Angela's jeep."
Despite heavy showers over the bank holiday weekend, there was still a good turn-out.
An extra car park with 1,000 spaces helped to prevent a repeat of the chaos at Easter when there were long queues on all approaches to the park.
