MUSIC-LOVERS expecting to get a slice of the pie when singer Don McLean was advertised as performing in Droitwich have been left sorely disappointed.
For it is the Birmingham comedian Don Maclean who will be performing.
Dozens of people blocked a telephone line trying to book tickets for the singer - famous for the song American Pie.
Media reports said he was appearing at the Chateau Impney on Friday, May 14, to help raise money for St Andrew's Church roof appeal.
And while the time and venue were correct, the celebrity was not.
Organisers are hoping to boost church funds as they are still £40,000 short of their £140,000 target.
Tickets are available by calling Hilary Fisher on 01905 798551.
