MANY of us have enjoyed home deliveries by CBS Newsagents, who sadly are leaving the area and their last delivery date is Saturday, May 29. Although other local newsagents have been approached, no-one is interested in taking on the deliveries.
So, some good news. After some consideration Jim and June Green, of Warrens Cottage, Lower Eggleton, are prepared to make a daily bulk delivery of newspapers to the village. With the co-operation of Martyn Newsome, the new landlord at the Bell, customers will be able to collect their newspapers from the pub.
We hope the new arrangement will prove to be practical and prevent the loss of yet another village facility. All existing customers will receive further information courtesy of CBS regarding the detailed arrangements. Some of you who used to collect your newspaper from the shop might also like to take advantage of this service. In the meantime, there is still hope that someone will come forward to take over the shop and Post Office. The vacancy was re-advertised recently.
