BY the end of today (Friday), everyone should have returned the village questionnaire. The parish plan covers a variety of issues, housing, transport, local services, crime and the environment. It is an opportunity for everyone who lives or works in Colwall to have their say. There are various locations to return completed questionnaires and these can be found in the May edition of the Colwall Clock.
A musical soiree - Music in May - in aid of St Michael's Hospice will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm at Colwall Village Hall. Tickets £10 to include wine and refreshments from (01432) 890643, (01531) 632460 or at the hall door.
The next jazz night at the Downs will be on Sunday at 7.30pm in the school hall. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the school music fund. Further details from Karen Ramsay (01684) 540277.
An evening of Russian Orthodox Church music and folk songs direct from St Petersburg with The Blagovest Ensemble, conductor Olga Kozlova, will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 7.30pm in St James Church, Colwall. Tickets to include light refreshments in the interval will be £10 or £8.50 (members of the English Speaking Union) from Mrs Nina Thomas, The Shielding, Hanley Swan.
A plant sale and coffee morning will be held at Colwall Village Hall on Saturday, May 15 from 10am-noon. This is in aid of the St James the Great Church flower guild. Any plants, cakes, bric a brac and raffle prizes should be brought along before 9.30am on that morning.
Dates for your diary: May 21 - live band Revolver at Colwall Village Hall in aid of Orlin Road playground equipment.
May 22 - Caribbean May fayre at Colwall Primary School.
May 27-29 - Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare - the next production by the Colwall Players at Colwall Village Hall.
