THE annual parish meeting gives the opportunity for parishioners to go and hear what has been happening in the parish of Redmarley over the past year and although it is not a parish council meeting, it also gives them the chance to put any problems or questions they have.
There will be the annual reports given from groups such as the village hall committee, the school, playgroup. Tennis and football clubs and the community policeman, PC Simon Bailey who will be giving his report and will also answer questions.
The meeting will be held in Redmarley Village Hall on Wednesday, May 19, at 7.30pm, your interest will be appreciated.
The weekend of May 14-16 will be celebrated in a special way at Redmarley with Rogation Revels. It will begin with supper in the village hall on Friday evening, May 14, and on Saturday there will be children's activities in the school at 10am, whilst at 10.30am there will begin a walk from Pauntley Church to Redmarley.
On Sunday the Bishop of Tewkesbury, Rt Rev John Went will be welcomed to the United Benefice service at Redmarley Church at 10am. The weekend ends with songs of praise at 4pm in the village hall with the Salvation Army band.
Rogationtide Sunday is held on the fifth Sunday after Easter and the three following days leading up to Ascension Day. In earlier times processions walked through the cornfields and prayers were said for the young crops and future harvests.
