A WOMAN was held by the neck while a gang of youths robbed her of cash and jewellery in Upton.
The incident took place at around 8.45pm on Tuesday, in an alleyway just off Rectory Road.
The woman had been followed by four youths when three more appeared in front of her, blocking her way.
The youths, who are described as white and aged about 18, took a necklace and £40.
A spokesman for Malvern Police said: "This was a very frightening experience - being surrounded and menaced by seven fully-grown males with, we believe, no help in sight.
"We hope to get more detailed descriptions when the victim is interviewed. She was initially too upset to provide any detailed information after such a traumatic ordeal."
Police want to hear from anyone with any information about the incident.
