I have to disagree with Cathy Garlick (Your Letters, April 30), it is because life is too short and too important that a ban on hunting must be achieved. Respect for life is what is missing when sport is made out of killing.
I agree that emphasis on services such as NHS and policing is very important but of equal importance is ensuring we create a moral, respectful and compassionate society where cruelty of all kinds is not accepted.
It doesn't seem to me that Diana Organ is on any "high horse" as Cathy Garlick suggests just attempting to place fox hunting in its rightful place along side bear baiting in the history books.
