HEREFORD United have released six players in the wake of their Nationwide Conference play-off defeat.

Mark Beesley, Robert Betts, Bertrand Cozic, Jordan King, Richard Teesdale and Dean Craven have not been offered new terms by manager Graham Turner.

The remaining players are still considering new deals and Turner hopes the majority will stay at Edgar Street.

Rob Purdie and Daniel Carey-Bertram have already agreed new one-year contracts.

Turner said: "All but one have been made offers and each of them wanted to leave it until the end of the season, and are now taking stock.

"We will probably lose one or two to league clubs but we are hopeful the majority will stick with us."
