The EGGS travelled to The Rolls of Monmouth for their April fixture, the inaugural C & M Builders masters.
The weather was again kind, in fact superb, to make it all the harder on a testing but quality course with a competitive field of 24.
Several good scores were returned with Tony Hunaban making his first EGG top three finish with 36 points for third place, beating Ian Belshaw on countback.
The EGGS nearly man Steve Phillpotts nearly won again but had to settle for another second with 38 points behind the winner for the day, Steve Gill with 40 points - his first EGG win as they enter their third year as a golfing society.
Ian Belshaw made the awards with a superb effort for nearest the pin whilst Colin Edwards was the only one to find the fairway to take longest drive. A fierce battle at the other end of the honours saw Mark Howells emerge as Mug of the day with 21 points.
Special thanks go to the days sponsors Colin Edwards and Mark Jenkins for organising the event which will be the last of this year's season in April 2005.
This year gets under way next Friday (May 14) when the EGGS travel to Tewkesbury park for the Bilko Brookes Shield. The coach leaves the Express at 8.45am.
