The burglar, or burglars, who entered Blackmore Park Farm early on Monday morning succumbed to the temptations of a rhubarb tart, cold meat and beer, and after gathering the "swag" together settled down to a good old feast. The barking of a dog, however, disturbed the harmony of the repast and caused a hasty exit without the loot, which was left in the dining room. Malvern Gazette, May 6, 1904.
The thanks of the residents of Ledbury will be extended to Mr Charles W Stephens, the chairman of the Urban District Council, for his generosity in providing nameplates to be placed in conspicuous positions for the guidance of visitors and other strangers who pass through the town. In spite of a suggestion that terraced houses might well become the slums of the future, it was decided at Tuesday's meeting of Malvern Urban District Council to proceed with the erection of 34 new houses, including two terraces of four at Pound Bank Estate. Mr G T Baldwin, while congratulating the Housing Committee on doing a good service in urging the erection of the new type of concrete houses, did not like the idea of terraced houses. The key of the 100th house built by Ledbury Urban District Council since the war was handed over to the tenant last week. At Monday's meeting of the council, Mr B W Hodges, presenting the report, said he felt sure this was gratifying to both the council and the public. Ledbury Reporter, May 12, 1954.

A group of Malvern residents, exasperated by the "appalling state" of the lane they live in, have won their fight for a rate reduction. For, on Thursday, a Malvern valuation panel decided that the claims of nine householders of Back Lane were justified and it awarded each of them a 12 per cent reduction in the gross rateable value of their property. Malvern Gazette, May 10, 1979.
A highly successful mini trade fair at the Royal Oak came to a close on Wednesday night, with Mr Bert Howells, chairman of the local Licensed Victuallers Association, thanking those who had taken part. Well over 200 people involved in the licensing trade from all over the area visited the exhibition. Ledbury Reporter, May 10, 1979.
