Stamps started with Torquay United despite being brought up in Birmingham and his obvious talent earned him a £10,000 move to Colchester United in 1997.
The left-footer moved to Harriers on a free in September 1999 after playing in the Second Division and his consistency at left-back has played a major part in their achievements.
Injuries have restricted his appearances at times but he will never shirk a tackle and held off the strong challenge of Ian Joy to keep his place.
An operation on a groin problem blighted last season after he signed a new two-year deal in 2002 but he did show tremendous promise as a centre-back in a three-man defence.
Stamps will be hoping to stay fit in order to play a vital role in season 2003/04.
