I DO not believe in coincidence when it comes to politics - so it was with no surprise that I listened to Prime Minister Tony Blair say that immigrants will not be given council housing.
Didn't MP Michael Foster say this about Worcester Council housing a couple of weeks ago? This smells of some Labour Party Central Office attempt to win flagging support.
Perhaps Mr Foster had the e-mail before the Prime Minister.
However, this not only shows the blanket politics Labour attribute to each region, it also shows the spin machine is still alive and well and aiming to bamboozle the public.
Immigrants may not have council houses, but how many live in private accommodation with rent paid for by social services?
This is a clear attempt to hide the burden to the taxpayer with a play on words.
M SWIERS,
Worcester.
