THE mother of a popular teenager who died after collapsing while dancing has expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her and her family.
Rose Stones said the memorial for her 17-year-old daughter, Claire, at Pershore Abbey on Friday, May 7, which was attended by around 400 mourners, was "amazing".
She said she, her husband Peter and son Chris have been overwhelmed with the 230 cards of support.
Claire, who was a pupil at Pershore Sixth Form Centre studying A-levels in drama, ICT and health and social care, had had a heart defect since birth, but was living a normal, healthy life.
However, during a college social night at The Marr's Bar, Pierpoint Street, Worcester, on Tuesday, April 27, Claire suddenly collapsed and died in the early hours of the following morning at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
"We want to thank all of our friends and neighbours who have supported us," said Mrs Stones.
"We still can't believe that she has gone."
