ALCESTER'S MP John Maples has welcomed BT's announcement that all exchanges in Warwickshire are to be Broadband enabled.
The firm announced last week the registration scheme was to cease immediately and all exchanges already triggered will have dates set as soon as possible.
The remaining seven will have dates set by the end of June.
Mr Maples said: "I'm delighted with the news as it will now mean that anyone in south Warwickshire who wishes to have broadband will now be able to have it regardless of where they live.
"This is a great step forward for the economy of the area and I welcome it."
Mr Maples added: "I will continue to watch with interest and keep people informed on what is happening."
