WORCESTER City Amateur Boxing Club recorded three wins out of three bouts at Worcester Rugby Club.
Midland schoolboy champion William Johns started the club off well with a unanimous points victory over Nick Hill of Derby. Johns was the busier during the bout, using his southpaw right hand to good affect occasionally landing with big looping left hooks.
Dave Cuss, the next Worcester schoolboy, boxing against Richard O'Neal of Burton, was involved in a very close contest which was won purely on work rate.
Next saw Gary Davis turn in the best performance to outpoint Dave Clinton of Cradley. Davis, using good straight boxing skills, kept Clinton at arms length during the entire three rounds. Mixed with hard right hands, Gary claimed the centre of the ring to remain undefeated in his first two contests.
