MEMBERS of the Harving-ton Society drove into the new season with a first visit to Wychwood Golf Club.
Finding the course in excellent condition, to match the spring sunshine, hopes were high that some good scores would be posted.
At the lunchtime interval, Robin Proctor led the chase for the Norman Whatmore Trophy with an excellent return of 21 points.
Despite maintaining his form for the afternoon round, Proctor was caught by Warwick Holland whose round of one over gross and 38 points gave him a total of 55 points to win the prestigious trophy and the Chall-enge Plate.
Harvington members move on to Eire for their annual tour of Championship Cou-rses, with their next fixture being a return to The Worce-stershire in July.
