OUR April meeting was well attended and reports were given on our progress in the skittles competition and the annual council meeting. Margaret Bradford, our delegate, entertained and informed us in her usual thorough and amusing way.
Our speaker was Diane Ferris on hat blocking, immediately grabbing our attention with the collection of delectable hats for all occasions which she had brought with her.
She then demonstrated how she fashioned these lovely creations -- a process requiring much artistic style, patience and hard work. Joyce Parkes spoke for us in her warm vote of thanks.
The competition for a hatpin was won by Lilian Spray with Pat Tonks as runner up.
President Dot Waldron thanked Ruth Deakin and Vi Silver, who were on tea duty, and Judith Hall for flowers for the officers' table.
Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 2pm in Wychbold Village Hall and we are always ready to welcome newcomers to the village -- come and try us out!
