I WOULD like to know how Marina Duffell thinks she will be able to cross the roads in Worcester if the traffic was travelling at 10mph.

At this speed, all the vehicles will be nose-to-tail providing no gaps to allow pedestrians to cross at any point other than recognised crossings.

I agree with Ms Duffell that there are issues with drivers going through red lights - but then there are also issues with pedestrians crossing the road when they do not have the right of way.

The crossing at the Sidbury end of City Walls Road is a prime example. And we shouldn't forget the cyclists that seem to believe that they can go whereever they like.

How will Ms Duffell cope walking along New Road if the excellent idea put forward by one of your readers to put a cycle path on the pavement is taken up?

Ms Duffell and several of your other readers focus on the speed of the vehicles involved in accidents and draw a direct relationship to the amount of casualties. I admit this is certainly a factor but it is not the only one.
