THIS film is definitely one for the girls, or mothers old enough to have daughters of 15.

It tells the story of mother and daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman, whose prickly relationship with each other will strike a chord with many females in the same position.

When Anna (Lindsay Lohan) breaks it to her mum Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) that she would rather play guitar with her band than attend her mum's wedding rehearsal party, it sets off a whole string of mesmerising events.

In the middle of a cloakroom shouting match they both unwrap a Chinese fortune cookie and wake up next morning to find their minds and souls are in each other's bodies.

Anna has to go off to work as a sensible and grown-up psychologist, while Tess has to enter the landmine world of university, cliques, sports and boyfriends.

Added to the horror of the situation is the fact that Tess is due to marry next day and ace guitarist Anna has an important rock audition.

Both Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are excellent, bringing humour and joy to their performances, trumping those of Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster who starred in the 1976 original.
