NOT content with completing a 2.5 mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and a marathon on successive days, Dave Granger now has his sights set on completing all three trials in the space of one day!
The 47-year-old Great Britain international from Norton competed in the three-day Iron Man in Coleraine near Belfast and clocked an amazing time of just over ten hours.
He has been in training for the Full Iron Man in Austria in July since October and his efforts across the Irish Sea means his strict training regime is working.
"The time was better than I expected and I was thrilled to get under 12 hours," he admitted. "You've got to be sensible about and stay well hydrated but I've got good powers of recovery and that's important."
Sponsored by Vale Cycles and Evesham Natural Health Centre, Granger's final countdown to his first quest to complete the three arduous disciplines all in one day will include a two-week training visit to Spain.
Just for the record, he clocked 58 minutes for the swim, five hours and 52 minutes on his bike finishing with a three-hour 50 minute mara-thon!
