A REDDITCH woman is opening up part of her home, her garden and a library filled with books collected by her late husband to the public.
Canon Ray Adams, who was rector of Ipsley Team, died in France in 2002 while working as a holiday chaplain for the Intercontinental Church Society.
In his memory, his widow Tess is opening up their resource library, a quiet room and peaceful garden in Abbey Road to anyone who wants to use it for preparing talks, or to pray, reflect and meditate or just to sit quietly away from the stresses of life.
The library contains the catalogued books of Canon Adams, together with tapes, computers and many pamphlets. More volumes will be added in the future.
Mrs Adams said: "Ray was such a wonderful man with a huge heart and everybody who knew him admired him, not only for his warm nature but also for his intelligence.
"He loved his books, which he had collected for so long and he read a great deal. I think letting members of the public have access to all his books will be a fitting tribute to my husband."
The books cannot be removed but people can use them for research purposes and during periods of nice weather, visitors can enjoy reading in Mrs Adams' well-maintained garden.
There is no charge but donations would be welcomed and refreshments are available.
Anyone who would like more details can call Mrs Adams on 452744.
